Early on, LaJetta knew that there was life beyond South Memphis, so it came as no surprise that she was on the "first thang smoking" upon graduating from high school. She enlisted in the Navy which landed her in beautiful sunny California where she trained to become an Air Traffic Controller. She later enrolled at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and obtained her Bachelor's degree. After graduating from Dominguez Hills, Lajetta now had her eyes set on law school. With Philippians 4:13 serving as the anthem of her life, Lajetta knew without a shadow of a doubt that she could do all things through Christ who gave her strength. LaJetta went on to finish law school and worked in Administrative law for 20 years. She made partner at her firm and served in this capacity for a year prior to her recent appointment as an Administrative Law Judge with the California Unemployment Appeals Board. She has 3 wonderful kids Katherine 18, Katelin 16 and Daniel 14. LaJetta's love for the game of golf came after graduating from Law school. In spite of playing some really great courses, she still has room to grow! She is very excited to become a member of the Diamonds on the Green and to grow the Southern California chapter!

I started playing golf in 1989 with the LPGA junior golf program (now known as First Tee) in Los Angeles, CA. Accomplished many accolades during my junior career where I was invited to tournaments all over the US. Earned a golf scholarship to Jackson State University where I was a repetitive SWAC Champion and Individual medalist. At JSU I was a member of the 1 st All black female golf team to go to NCAA. I was a presidential scholar and All American athlete. After college I had a short-lived professional golf career. I soon would take a long break (10 years) to raise my son. The urge to play again is what led me to join Diamonds on the green. Whenever I have had low periods in life golf has saved me. I love this game. G:gift O: of L:life F: for me!
